Strombolian activity, accompanied by roars and lava emissions, has been observed since last night from Mount Etna’s summit craters. The phenomenon was recorded by the monitoring system of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), Etna Observatory in Catania, which has not detected the presence of a volcanic ash cloud at this time.

Volcanic tremor is on the rise, transitioning from medium to medium-high levels. INGV experts have raised the Volcano Observatory Notice for Aviation (VONA) from green to yellow, and subsequently to orange.
